At some point in my liberal arts college career, I fell in love with Frida Kahlo. Her story is so fascinating, her self portraits are intriguing and beautiful. A couple years ago, we went to a Frida/Diego art exhibit in Atlanta – where I bought myself a silly t shirt and a poster which will one day hang in my office – that is, when I have an actual office and not the corner of the girl’s playroom. 😉
I just HAD to buy this little shirt for Callie and have been holding on to it for at least 6 months for the perfect outfit to photograph it with. It’s been worn probably 20 times, and now, even has little food stains at the neck of the shirt.
So I just got these Freshly Picked moccasins in the mail today, and knew they’d work perfectly with this little outfit – and because I’m a lover/supporter of all small business mamas like myself – Her denim pants are Ella B Denim, headband is ThanBirds and her little toddler purse is iBetterAccessorize.
Callie isn’t quite 2 yet, but she’s super active (as most almost two year olds are!) and what better way to capture this time than a little lifestyle session with her. She’s our last baby so I soak up all these sweet little milestones with her. Her little pigtail buns, her chubby fingers, her joy of collecting and throwing rocks, those little chubby legs, and the way she skips around on her tip toes from time to time (and these moccasins make that super easy for her!) and how she contently plays in her own little world.
I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I enjoyed photographing them, so that I’ll never forget these things. <3 Mamas, don’t forget to capture all these details because soon your babies won’t be babies anymore.
